Almond and Sidney Verba (1989). The theme has been more concisely analyzed in Walter A. Rosenbaum's Political Culture (1975). There is an attempt here to treat the raw notion of culture itself as a defining principle of international relations. Chay has segmented the study into five parts: Part 1 attempts to set out a general understanding of the concept with little specificity and obviously little agreement among the other contributors. Part 2 looks at the relationship from the perspective of the humanities, in particular an anthropological treatment of warfare, war and peace in literature, international relations in music, and the topics handled by philosophy. JONGSUK CHAY is a Professor of History at Pembroke State University. He is the editor or coeditor of Problems and Prospects of American-East Asian Relations (1987), U.S.-Korean Relations, 1882-1982 (1982), and The Buffer States in World Politics (1987) and the author of A Symmetrical Diplomacy: Korean-American Relation to 1910(1990) and a number of scholarly articles and chapters on American-East Asian Relations, American foreign policy, and international relations.

Hal Leonard has great books, this being one of them

Ya know, I think I'm hooked on Hal Leonard books. Their instructional books just superb. This book. .. a definite keeper. I would call it intermediate more so than beginner. Definitely have to know how to read and play. Buy it. If you're advanced you'll still have fun. If you're a beginner you will have a few songs you can play or at least a great book as a goal. Or play the melody right hand. . Plenty of songs to choose from for that.

A great piano solos book - beautiful music

I consider this Piano book one of the best I have ever played. I am an advanced pianist who hasn't played in 30 years, but I add chords as I go along. It tends to be a little easier than an intermediate or advanced song book, but it is well worth purchasing and adds hours of enjoyment to play all the piano solos.

Volume IV of the Battle Colors© series concludes the examination of USAAF combat insignia and aircraft tactical markings in the European Theater during WWII. Covered within this work are the Ninth, Twelfth, and Fifteenth AAFs from the first to last combat operations by U.S. air power in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. These operations were extensive and covered territory extending from the sands of North Africa to the heartland of Germany, and from the shores of French Morocco to the oil fields of Romania. Combat units covered include both Day and Night fighters, Bombers, Troop Transports, and Reconnaissance and Special Operations groups/squadrons.
All combat units assigned or attached to either of the three AAFs are covered within this work, utilizing over 1,123 full color illustrations and wartime photos. These depict every currently known AAF group/squadron insignia belonging to the Air Forces being examined. Included are both official and unofficial combat insignia, in addition to many designs that were superseded by later images. Wartime photos showing common applications of these unit insignia are interspersed throughout the text.
Aircraft tactical markings are depicted via original full color illustrations, showing full and close-up profiles in addition to upper elevation views when appropriate.
All known Theater airfield assignment locations and dates are detailed with color area maps included within each respective units section, and are all fully indexed for ease of reference in the back of the book. Reader-friendly "Group Markings" and "Group/Squadron Code" visual indexes are also included to assist research into specific AAF units.
Additional topics addressed include the evolution of U.S. AAC/AAF national markings, combat mission markings, and basis airframe nomenclature.
Those familiar with Volume III of this series (which deals exclusively with the Ninth USAAF) may wonder initially whether the inclusion of the Ninth in this current work is a rehash of material covered in Volume III. It is not! Volume IV deals with the same subject matter, but at an earlier period of the Ninth AAFs deployment in the MTO, prior to redeployment of this unit to the UK, from which point Volume III picks up.
Next in the Battle Colors© series (Volume V) will shift focus to the Pacific Theater of Operations. This work will examine the insignia and tactical markings of the Fifth, Tenth, Eleventh, and Thirteenth USAAFs.

Battle Colors Vol IV, Insignia and Aircraft markings of the USAAF in WW II

This book has a capsule history of the units operating in the Mediteranean Theater. It breaks down the aircraft markings unit by unit with colored aircraft profiles, squadron insignias, and a few vintage photos. It does try to pack a lot of information in just a few pages per unit. Support groups and transports are not as well covered as the combat groups. With the formation of the 12th and 15th Air Forces many of the groups found their missions changing and their markings also were revised. Their supply chain had them getting equipment after the 8th and 9th Air Forces. Escort groups persisted with Spitfires and hand me down P-38s long after they should have transitioned to P-51s. I found this a useful reference for modeling purposes.

This is the fourth volume of this particular series, and finally is getting out of the ETO into some of the lesser -known theaters. Yes- I like the 8AF too, but vols 1 and 2 just plowed some well worn furrows again. Vol. 3 was good - too few people pay much attention to the 9th AF.

The layout is good, lots of pictures, drawings and diagrams . Most of the information is available elsewhere (notably in Maurer Maurer's two works), especially with one page per Bomb Group.), but this is a good layout , especially for the younger (anyone under 40) historian. Serials of assigned aircraft would be a nice addition, but you can't have everything.

It is pricey, but you get what you pay for. If you want junk go to your local bookstore. This volume and its three predecessors are solid references and worth the money. Highly recommended

the contents of the book was just what I wanted.This was the second book in the series that I have ordered,and I expect to get the rest of the series.My only problem was that the dog got to the book first and distroyed the box and the dust cover.I hate that dog.

Just the right mix of inspiration and practical information

This was a very good inspirational and motivational short read. Stylistically, it reminded me in many ways of the writings and lectures of Neville Goddard, though the information contained in this book is, in content, infinitely more practical and reality based. Throughout the course of the work, the reader is constantly reminded that many of the blocks to success come not from external circumstances, but from our own minds and how they work.

Thomas Abreu has clearly done a great deal of research into the psychology and habits of successful people. However, the work is for from dryly academic. In nearly every chapter, the author presents easy to implement real life suggestions that the reader can use to think more successfully. He also illustrates many of the mindsets that, in many cases, lead to failure and stagnation. In particular, I was quite impressed with the author's suggestions on how to maximize the productivity and value of workers by visualizing them at their best, praising them for their successes, and helping them to realize your potential vision of their own work.

Overall, this book is clearly geared toward business, but the principles presented in it are applicable in relationships, personal goals, and even health and fitness goals. A good balance of inspiration and motivation with practical suggestions that readers can put into use in every day life. Definitely well worth reading!

Sometimes the most failures that I got is when I didn't believe in myself. When I know a task is already quite impossible to make, without even trying, I already give up. I am a pessimist I admit. My friend recommended me this book, and well, it got me interested and having a second thought on viewing life. In this book I have learned some of the power of thinking big.
